I Don’t Fear the End of Life
In my experience, some people dread talking about death and what might occur afterward, while others are more open to discussing possibilities.
Where we rest on that spectrum is a matter of our conditioning.
Some of us were conditioned to adopt a code of norms established by religious, societal, and educational influences.
As a result, some may firmly believe in an omniscient deity who sits in judgment of their human behavior and cognitive activity.
Others, raised under different influences, share none of the above beliefs yet conduct their lives morally and ethically.
The way I see it, I can choose to believe the stories passed down by those who sought to control the masses by denying them the right to education, opportunity, and socioeconomic advancement or choose to be ethical and moral of my own accord without having to please an unseen moral arbiter.
You also have the choice to live in fear of the end or live your life fully in the present.
